Privacy policy
iHelper Family Hub ("iHelper") helps households organise calendars, tasks, shopping, recipes, meals, and health in one shared space. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect
Account information: email address, display name, and sign-in method (email one-time code, Sign in with Apple, or Google). Apple may share your name on first sign-in only.
Family data you create or edit: tasks, shopping lists, recipes, meal plans, calendar events, health logs, member profiles, join codes, and related photos you upload.
Device and usage data: push notification tokens, app language and theme preferences, and diagnostic logs when crash reporting is enabled.
- Health data (optional): workouts and step counts you choose to import from Apple Health.
- Voice input (optional): short audio processed on-device for shopping voice entry when you use the microphone.
- Barcode and product lookups: item codes sent to Open Food Facts when you scan groceries.
- AI prompts (optional): messages you send in the AI tab when using platform AI or your own API key.
How we use information
We use your data to operate the app: sync content between family members, send reminders you enable, display weather for cities you save, and verify App Store subscriptions for optional AI Plus features.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use family content for third-party advertising.
Family sharing
Content you add inside a family is visible to other members of that family according to roles and tab visibility set by the Main Member. Do not store information you are not comfortable sharing with your household.
Leaving or removing a family stops future access for that account; existing copies on other members' devices or exports you made may remain.
AI features
Free tier: core tabs work without platform AI.
AI Plus (optional): the Main Member may purchase a family subscription. Prompts are sent to our backend and then to the configured AI provider (e.g. xAI Grok) to generate responses and suggested actions.
Bring your own key: the Main Member may instead store an API key in family settings. That key is used only to call the provider you choose.
AI output may be inaccurate. Review suggestions before adding tasks, events, or shopping items to your family.
Third-party services
We rely on trusted processors to run the app:
- Supabase — authentication, database, file storage, and server functions.
- Apple / Google — sign-in and (on iOS) in-app subscriptions.
- Firebase — push notifications and crash reporting when configured.
- Open Food Facts — public product data for barcode scanning.
- Weather and schedule APIs — forecast and sports schedule lookups you request.
- AI providers (e.g. xAI, OpenAI) — when you use AI features.
Permissions
iOS permission prompts explain each use. You can change them anytime in Settings:
- Photos & camera — recipe and shopping images.
- Microphone & speech recognition — voice shopping entry.
- Notifications — calendar and meal reminders.
- Health — optional workout and step sync.
- Calendars — optional export of events to your device calendar.
Subscriptions & payments
AI Plus subscriptions are billed by Apple through your Apple ID. We receive transaction identifiers and entitlement status, not your full payment card details. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Storage, security & retention
Data is stored in encrypted cloud infrastructure provided by Supabase. Traffic uses HTTPS. Access is restricted by authentication and row-level security policies per family.
We retain account and family data while your account is active. You may delete your profile from a family, leave a family, or sign out at any time. Contact us to request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
Children
iHelper is designed for family use under adult supervision. Parents and guardians control membership and should manage what minors can access.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data. Use in-app profile controls or contact us for help. If you are in the EEA/UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the in-app text and "Last updated" date.
